Cookie policy

What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file the site stores in your browser. FindThings uses cookies only so the service can sign you in, remember which space you are using, tell a website subscription from an installed-app subscription, and protect forms. We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics product that tracks you across other sites.
Cookies we set
- Sign-in. After you log in, a session cookie keeps that login until you sign out or the session expires from inactivity. On the live site it is sent only over HTTPS and is not readable by page scripts.
- FindThings.Space. If your login belongs to more than one space, this cookie remembers which space you last chose. It is not readable by page scripts.
- FindThings.Client. Set to
appwhen you open FindThings as an installed home-screen app, orwebin a normal browser, so those two checkouts stay separate. The page itself sets this cookie. It is not used to advertise. - Form protection. A cookie pairs with each form you submit so another website cannot submit that form as you.
- Status message. After you save a change, a short-lived cookie can carry the confirmation onto the next page. It is not a profile of you.
These cookies are necessary to run the service. We do not show a separate advertising-consent banner, because we do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long they last
The sign-in cookie ends when you log out or after a period of inactivity. The space cookie lasts until you switch spaces, log out, or clear cookies. The website-versus-app cookie lasts until you clear cookies. The form and status cookies are short-lived and are replaced as you use the site.
Turning cookies off
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block these cookies, you can still read the public pages, but you will not stay signed in, forms may not submit, and the site will not remember your space. We do not respond differently to a browser “Do Not Track” signal, because we do not track you across other sites.
